Finally arrived in Kathmandu

Hey everyone! After a 13 hour flight from Vancouver to Hong Kong, followed by a 12 hour layover and and then another 4 hour flight, we finally made it to Kathmandu. Instead of sleeping during the layover in Hong Kong we hung out in the Plaza Lounge and ate noodles and drank numerous "Hite" beers. So needless to say the sleep deprevation and the beer put me into a somewhat halucinatory haze for the remainder of the trip. We landed in Kathmandu around 11pm local time, got our Visa's and bags, and went outside to meet someone from the hotel to ferry us into Thamel where we're staying at the Potala Guesthouse. Fortunately we managed to actually find our driver and he got us safely to hotel where we passed out instantly. The hotel is nice, clean, has beds, windows and floors, so nothing really to complain about.

Suprisingly we woke up really yearly the next day, probably because it was the evening in Victoria time and my little internal clock is completely mangled. The goal today is to stay up until at least 9pm to get used to the time change. Kiersten is currently failing that goal by sleeping as I write this. We left our hotel early and hit the streets of Thamel in search of some food... I'll let the pictures take over from here because nobody really wants to read an essay.
